Introduction

The Ministry of Federal Affairs and General Administration, Government of Nepal, has issued new guidelines to provide educational scholarships specifically for children of civil service employees. This initiative seeks to motivate students by providing financial assistance and fostering academic achievement.

Key Features of the Scholarship:

  • Eligibility Criteria:
    • Academic Requirement: Students who have achieved a minimum GPA of 2.4 or more than 50% marks in their Grade 12 or equivalent examinations are eligible.
    • Institutional Recognition: Priority will be given to students enrolled in universities or institutions affiliated with accredited Nepali universities.
    • Enrollment Status: Candidates should be enrolled in the first year or first/second semester of a bachelor’s degree program.
    • Age Limit: Applicants must be under 25 years of age.
    • Employment Status: Applicants should not hold a permanent appointment in other public service positions.
  • Application Process:
    • Online Application: Eligible students must submit their applications online via the official portal www.santati.mofaga.gov.np.
    • Required Documents:
      • Citizenship certificate (including migration certificate if applicable)
      • Educational certificates from SLC/SEE and Grade 12 levels
      • Recommendation letter from the parent’s employing office
      • Admission receipt and fee structure from the current educational institution
      • Certified document confirming the death of a civil servant parent (if applicable)
      • Recent passport-size photographs of both the parent and student
  • Financial Assistance:
    • The scholarship covers educational fees and additional expenses, with amounts varying based on the academic program. For example, scholarships for medical studies may offer up to NPR 500,000.
  • Service Commitment:
    • Recipients may be required to serve in government-designated areas upon completing their studies, ensuring benefits to essential public service sectors.
  • Application Timeline:
    • Application Start Date: 2081/11/23 (Nepali Calendar)
    • Application Deadline: Applications must be submitted within 15 days from the publication date.
